Put your efforts on fixing film streaming
I just subscribed to Fandor this afternoon and am already very disappointed. Frankly, it was just too good to be true. We tried to watched 3 films tonight, and all of them were freezing and buffering after 10 minutes , even a 13m short film ! We tried on 2 different computers, rebooting each of them. What a humbug ! It's so frustrating , impossible to watch anything, and in two weeks Ill be charged $10 for a service that I can't actually use at all. Please do something , you can't push people to pay for such a bad…
1 voteHi Laetitia, sorry to hear about your less than stellar experience. We’ve reached out to our team to see if they can figure out why your playback is having trouble. We look forward to helping you improve this!

Thank you for your interest in Fandor!
Fandor is currently working to bring its streaming service to more devices. As it stands, Fandor users can enjoy our films using the web, Roku, iPad, iPhone, or Apple TV (using AirPlay). We are investigating and working on a number of other platforms like Wii, Sony, Android, just to name a few.

My idea? how about offering a two week trial without being fettered by a bank card.
I am sorry to say this but shame on you. The tactic of offering something on a trial basis but requiring that clients use a credit card before actually experiencing your services is both pedestrian and offensive. Normally I wouldn't care, so many sites these days offer something for free and insist on a valid credit card before you can sample it only hoping that you will forget and the money will come rolling out of bank accounts while people go mindlessly about their day to day lives. I can accept that...P.T. Barnum style, I get it but suckers aren't…
1 voteGreetings Christopher,
Our apologies in learning of your frustration surrounding Fandor’s free trial and sign-up process for new members. Fandor employs the trial-to-subscription process that other online streaming services also offer inquiring lovers of film who wish to discover more.
Fandor allows users to seamlessly transition into an automatic subscription, without any extra steps, so that they may conveniently continue to enjoy films on Fandor. Individuals who are enjoying their free trial with Fandor but decide not to join as paid members, are granted the ability to cancel at anytime during their free trial period, without consequence.
Fandor is proud to share that all filmakers listed on our site are paid their fair share of royalties when their films are viewed, even when viewed during a free trial period.
We apologize that the sign-up process offered to new free-trial viewers did not suit your preferences.
Warmly,
Fandor -

It’s a matter of licensing and it is certainly on our roadmap. We completely agree and want these films to be accessible everywhere.

Any plans to bring this to Xbox360?
My apartment set-up unfortunately doesn't allow for comfy computer watching. But if I could watch on TV through the xbox or my blu ray player, this would interest me.
26 votesThanks for the input. We’re investigating various devices and the Xbox looks like it’s getting a lot of votes.

8 votesHello – than you for suggesting that we bring Fandor to Kindle. We plan to make Fandor available on more devices in the future, but don’t yet have a set timeline for launching a Kindle app.

Hello. Thank you for the comment. We are eager to bring Fandor to more devices in the future, including AppleTV. Unfortunately, Apple has not opened up development for this device yet, so we cannot support it directly. However, you can currently use airplay on the iPad 2 to stream Fandor directly to your AppleTV. So, if you have an iPad 2, download the Fandor app and use airplay to watch on AppleTV. Thanks for your suggestion and for you interest in Fandor!

Android App!!! Android App!!
I have several Android devices (phone tablet & TV) I want to be able to watch glbt movies where I want & when I want!
Thanks!32 votesThanks for the comment, and anyone else who is interested in android support should vote to let us know.
We do currently work on Android devices that support flash. I understand that this is not optimal With Adobe discontinuing flash support we’ll need to investigate a real solution.
Additional devices are on our roadmap. HTML5 is a bit tougher because of licensing restrictions. Keep the comments and votes on this coming. They are very helpful to us.

The biggest issue with Fandor films is the sudden reloading of the film that occurs between one and six times throughout a given film.
Expand Fandor's bandwidth so that subscribers can watch a film uninterrupted.
3 votesYou’re right, this is a big problem, we all hate when our movie is interrupted. Often there are network constraints that cause these interruptions. We strive to improve our film streaming and are actively working on this. We recently identified some that are affecting Roku users in particular and are working on a fix to improve playback performance. Thanks for your feedback!

More Information in the Rollover
The rollover of Netflix is one of the things that makes it cool. The Fandor rollover needs to be expanded in order to say WHY the film is important/cool and not just random bargain bin garbage.
3 votesHi Constantine. Thank you for your comment. This is an area that we are currently working on and is a top priority for the Fandor team. As we roll out additional site updates in the future, we will be providing more contextual information about why individual films are significant/important and, more specifically, why we chose to include them in the Fandor library. As you mentioned, it would be helpful if this information was included in the pop up box when a user rolls over a film title/thumbnail. We’re playing around with various options about how to best present this information. Please do let us know if you have an other ideas or insight.
Thank you!
